John Smitson purchased the Stone Center of Indiana in July of 2014 and has since been an integral part of the Stone Center team. Although new to the stone industry, John is certainly not new to the business world. Prior to his purchase of the Stone Center, John served 25 years at Cummins Crosspoint. He eventually took the position of Vice President/General Manager, and was responsible for overseeing more than 700 people and 18 different locations. Through this position, John discovered a passion for investing in his team as a way to create an environment of exceptional customer service.
Not one to sit down for too long, John has a long history of commitment different organizations. John’s most notable involvements include: The American Lung Association, Indiana Motor Truck Association, East Shore Corporation, Junto of Indianapolis, Build Indiana Council and the Board of Trustees Ohio Wesleyan University.
In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his family and spending weekends on Lake Maxinkuckee located in Culver, Indiana. John also enjoys all things golf, late night cable, and a little healthy competition.
